BIOGRAPHY

Musicals

In the fall of 1998, in conjunction with Musicalfare, Inc., Jim was the musical director and arranger for an original show called, “After Hours.” In 2004, he conceived of, transcribed/arranged/orchestrated all the music and co-wrote the script for “Zooma, Zooma” which won Artvoice’s Best Musical of the year. In June of 2005 the show was produced at Studio Arena for three weeks with another 4 star rating in the Buffalo News. For the 2008-2009 season, Musicalfare hired Jim again to do all the music arranging for two of its world premier productions: Jamestown Gals and Bada Bing! Bada Boom! In 2010 Jim composed/arranged all the music for “Crossroad Blues” and in 2013 He arranged all the music and wrote the script for “Big Band Theory”. As a sideman, Jim has currently performed in over 50 musicals.

 

Performer

As a performer, Jim has toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, played with the Goo Goo Dolls, the Ten Thousand Maniacs and The Duke’s, performed on Carnival Cruise Lines and the Delta Queen Steamboat Co., and also traveled with Circus America.  He has performed at Woodstock ’99, toured in the Middle East, Eastern and Western Europe (including the Azure Islands) and South East Asia. He has recorded with Greg Lake, performed as a sideman for people such as the Four Freshmen, The Pied Pipers, Trini Lopez, Rich Little and Johnny Mathis and opened for such groups as The Average White Band, Peter Frampton, Kim Mitchell, Jan and Dean, Lee Greenwood, The Impressions, Bobby Blue Bland and The New Temptations.
